A19 Koi and Pond Supplies are importers of Koi Carp and suppliers of Koi Carp bred in the United Kingdom and other fresh water fish.

A19 Koi Carp is owned and run by Paul Oldroyd who has over 20 years experience in keeping various breeds of fish. We are situated near York, at Bell Farm Stead in Escrick, North Yorkshire and we are open 10-5 everyday, except Wednesday and Thursday. We are also open Bank Holidays.
Koi Carp differs from the common carp because of its fancy colouration but still retains the durability of the common carp. Koi have many different colours. Some of the major colours are white, black, red, yellow, blue, and cream. Koi are cold-water fish, so it's advisable to have a metre or more of depth in areas of the world that become warm during the summer.
The word "koi" comes from the Japanese, simply meaning, "carp." It includes both the dull grey fish and the brightly coloured varieties. A homophone of Koi means "love, affection" and koi are therefore symbols of love and friendship in Japan.
